about

A slight deviation in style into a world of atmospheric melodic noir, served as a companion release to the Murken Hollow album.

***

Five years since that surreal case in Murken Hollow yet it still haunted my dreams, often feeling more real than the waken world. Each night edging closer to remembering and making sense of what actually happened in that godforsaken town, but that's a story for another day. For now, the dreams had taken a turn and drawn me into a mysterious frozen vista unlike the misty world I'd become so familiar.

Even in my dreams I could feel the icy cold bite of the January winds on my face. Snow fell all around quietly whirling through the trees obscuring my view and the frozen crunch under my feet made heavy work as I tried to keep trudging forward. With each cold breath of the wintry air a feeling of clarity hit me consuming me further into this world, slowly revealing a white clad avenue of trees lit only by the snow refracted moonlight and the odd lantern. In the distance several figures came into view, shroud in cloaks and stood before a signpost. Sense told me to turn back, but something; be it my sleuth inquisitiveness or just sheer madness drew me towards them.

My thoughts flickered back and forth from anxiety to wonder, coupled with the unforgettable horrors I'd witnessed in Murken Hollow, and with each blink the white of the snow flakes flashed black, reminding me of the eery floating black flakes that had littered the air and my dreams ever since.

Not knowing who or even what these figures were, the need to find out and see this dream or vision through compelled me so on I trudged into the unknown...
